IMPACT - WATER CONSERVATION

The fashion industry is notorious for its high water consumption, but ESLLA has made strides in conservation efforts by sourcing the right materials. Cactus, their plant-based material, requires significantly less water than other crops. The plant itself absorbs water from humidity in the atmosphere, requiring only 200 liters to grow one kilogram of cactus biomass compared to 1000 liters for other crops.

Additionally, DESSERTO only cuts mature leaves from the plant, allowing for repeat harvest every 6-8 months from the same plant without damaging it.
